Butcher Block Island Kitchen – East Cobb

Client Goal: A total renovation to change the floor plan and allow for an island, while making the flow better.

Our Solution: We took out the peninsula floor plan and created a large butcher block island improve the efficiency, storage space  and traffic flow throughout. We moved exiting walls, engineered new structural elements, and created space for a dedicated laundry room. The new laundry is separate from the kitchen, and we gained the space by bumping out into the garage — gaining square footage without an addition.

The huge custom butcher block island adds seating and also features a farm sink and microwave drawer. We built in shelves for the clients’ cookbooks and wine collection on one end. Expansive storage is provided by the large cabinets along the refrigerator wall.
