East Cobb Kitchen Addition

This addition project in East Cobb took a small, cramped first floor and reimagined how each space was to be utilized.

The addition of a family room off the back of the house allowed for a complete redesign of the main floor, creating a new open concept kitchen, walk-in pantry, dining room, and great room that the extended family could enjoy for years to come.

This family places deep value on time spent together, yet their home didn’t fully support the way they wanted to gather. With rooms closed off from one another, there was no single space where the entire extended family could comfortably come together, especially around the table. Together, we reimagined the home to create a central space where connection becomes effortless and family gatherings can unfold naturally, day after day.

 An additional 400 square feet of living space off the back of the house allowed for an entirely new layout for the first floor. The cramped family room became the spacious formal dining area. The too-small dining room became the walk-in pantry. And the kitchen that felt like a traffic jam became the heart of the home, open to a grand vaulted family room that welcomes all who enter with abundant natural light. Contrasting the airy open family room is an expansive kitchen with a bold personality, playing with darker tones and heavy textures to give this space the moment in the spotlight it deserves.
