East Cobb First Floor & Kitchen Remodel

This sweet remodel in the Old Paper Mill neighborhood of East Cobb transformed a cluttered, inefficient floorplan into a home built for everyday life in the modern era.

This remodel included a redesign of the entire kitchen, breakfast nook, laundry room and pantry, mudroom, and powder room on the main floor of this traditional colonial home. Each detail was carefully designed to suit the family’s needs, and the result is a space that feels effortless, timeless, and endlessly purposeful.

This family of six was tired of always running into each other in their cramped kitchen space that was desperately in need of more storage. Their pantry / laundry room was too small and disorganized, making it a difficult throughway from the garage to the kitchen. And most importantly, the entire space just did not feel like home. This couple set out to design a space that reflected their personality, style, and family values, and was built the way they liked to live: together.

This remodel introduced an entirely new floor plan for the back half of the home, fully reimagining the kitchen to support both beauty and function. The redesigned layout accommodates a generous center island and a full wall of pantry and storage cabinetry, complete with a functional rolling ladder.

Storage was prioritized at every turn, even down to slide-out toe-kick drawers designed for items like cutting boards and baking sheets. The once-awkward pass-through between the kitchen and family room was transformed with the addition of a powder room, coffee bar, and graceful arched openings that bring warmth and a sense of historic charm to the space.

The kitchen was finished with natural backsplash tile, floating shelves, and layered accent lighting, reinforcing the home’s timeless character. To improve daily flow, the laundry room was relocated to the former pantry, removing it from the garage entry and creating a far more efficient and family-friendly drop zone.
