This custom kitchen remodel in East Cobb transformed an outdated floor plan and challenging kitchen into a space designed to flow effortlessly from everyday mornings to holiday gatherings.

By removing multiple walls and relocating all major mechanical elements, the layout was completely reimagined to dramatically improve both function and livability. Every detail was thoughtfully considered, blending refined elegance with practical design to support the rhythms of a busy family while creating a kitchen that truly anchors the home.

Busy parents of two young girls, these homeowners were ready for a kitchen designed to simplify everyday life while elevating the space to match the quality of their home and neighborhood. The existing layout fell short, featuring an unused bar tucked behind a hallway, dual peninsulas that created traffic jams rather than solutions, and dated cabinetry that left the kitchen feeling tired and disconnected.

Beyond the kitchen, the adjacent family room lacked the warmth and presence needed to serve as the home’s true gathering space. The goal was to reimagine both areas as a cohesive, inviting heart of the home—one that supports daily life while welcoming family and friends with ease.

The GreatHouse team began with a blank slate in the back half of the home, removing the unused bar area and storage closet to create the depth needed for a thoughtfully reimagined kitchen. The result is a space with exceptional storage, a dedicated kid zone, and a subtle yet distinctive flair—proving that highly functional design can still feel anything but ordinary. In the adjacent family room, recessed built-ins and ambient lighting were added to anchor the space and bring a greater sense of intention, seamlessly complementing the flow and function of the newly designed kitchen.
