This thoughtful remodel in East Spring Lake, Roswell transformed a tired, outdated kitchen into a space designed for family gatherings and memory-making.

While the overall footprint remained largely intact, a series of strategic updates dramatically improved both function and flow. Small but impactful changes introduced more light, warmth, and personality—proving that a well-considered redesign can completely change how a kitchen feels and performs without altering its foundation.

Soon-to-be empty nesters were ready to say goodbye to their original-to-the-home kitchen. From dark oak cabinetry and yellowed fluorescent lighting to an awkward layout and an unused desk area, the space no longer reflected how they lived—or who they were. As the most-used room in the home, they wanted a kitchen that captured the joy, warmth, and sense of fun they bring to everyday life. The existing space simply wasn’t delivering, and it was time for a change.

GreatHouse removed unnecessary walls that contributed to the cramped feel and reorganized the layout to create a more open, inviting space. Relocating the refrigerator to the former desk area made room for a central island and a dedicated coffee bar, while the previous pantry was transformed into a striking display station with concealed storage below. The range wall became a focal point, featuring whimsical accent tile and thoughtfully selected cabinet and shelf hardware that instantly made the kitchen feel personal and lived-in. A custom butcher-block island—designed with a baker in mind—includes a built-in mixer lift for easy access and seamless storage. The eat-in kitchen was elevated with a built-in bench, festive wallpaper, and a decorative chandelier, turning a once-overlooked nook into a lively and functional gathering spot. Just off the kitchen, the refreshed drop zone features simple millwork and curated accents, creating a warm and welcoming moment the instant you step inside.
